I remember the very first candidate I interviewed for the position of General Manager¬†of our men’s gym in Johannesburg like it was yesterday. I had never conducted an interview, and I don’t think he had been to one, but somehow we both knew¬†that ten minutes was all we needed to understand that our path’s crossed for a purpose.

Two years later I can safely say that’s one of the best decisions I’ve made, as that young afrikaans boy from Potchefstroom has grown into a young man with whom I’m incredibly proud to be associated.

Reini, you’ll be greatly missed. Your booming laugh, no nonsense instructions on workouts and fiercely passionate approach to what you do – and are truly excellent at – are irreplaceable. From a personal point of view, it’s been my pleasure getting to know you over the past few years. You’re an outstanding young man, and I value your genuine nature more than I can express. I’m am incredibly grateful for all you’ve done for Roark, and for the impact you’ve made on so many lives up in Johannesburg.

I know I speak on behalf of all the members of your gym when I say thank you for your time, effort and genuine care for all who were fortunate enough to train with you. We wish you everything of the best as you start your new life in the US with Jillian. Don’t stop driving the gainz train and don’t forget us.

Much love my friend.
